vacancy Mid-Level BI & Database Developer in Amman

We are looking for an experienced Cognos & DataStage Administrator to join our Data & AI team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and managing enterprise data platforms using IBM Cognos and IBM DataStage.

You will play a key role in enabling enterprise analytics, data integration, and governance capabilities, while ensuring high availability, performance, security, and compliance. This role involves working closely with infrastructure, security, and data teams, particularly within regulated industries such as banking, government, and telecommunications.

Key Responsibilities:

Platform Installation & Operations
  • Install, configure, and upgrade IBM Cognos and DataStage environments
  • Manage platform lifecycle, including patches, fix packs, and upgrades
  • Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery (DR) activities
  • Manage underlying relational and NoSQL databases
Security & Governance
  • Integrate platforms with enterprise IAM / LDAP
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and governance policies
  • Support data lineage, cataloging, and classification initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (PCI, ISO, internal policies)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
    • 7+ years of experience in data platform administration
  • 3+ years of experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data (CP4D)
  • Strong experience working in Linux environments
  • Understanding of networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, ingress/egress)
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, security, data engineering, AI)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with IBM Cloud Pak for Data and OpenShift deployments
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
  • Familiarity with persistent storage solutions (ODF, NFS, Ceph, Portworx)
  • Exposure to other IBM Cloud Paks (CP4I, CP4BA, CP4A)
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation
  • IBM certifications in Data & AI or OpenShift
  • Knowledge of Apache Kafka is a plus
